In 1991 the natural resource “Souroti” from the historical spring was recognized as a Natural Mineral Water with calcium, magnesium, oxycarbonate, acidic, due to the high content of calcium, magnesium, bicarbonate and carbon dioxide in the water source. It is included in the European Union’s list of natural mineral waters.
The high quality of the product was awarded in 1992 in Madrid by the Arch of Europe, where it was awarded the “Gold Star”, an award given to the best quality products in the world: this world-wide recognition proved once again the high quality of the unique Souroti water.
In 1997, for the first time, a Quality Management System was developed and installed at Souroti S.A. in accordance with the ISO 9002 standard.
Water SAFETY is directly related to human health.
For this purpose, since 2000 a HACCP system was developed and installed in Souroti S.A. according to the ELOT 1416 standard.

In 2014, within the framework of the legislation, it was recognized as a thermal water suitable for drinking therapy, with medical documentation of the properties and beneficial effects on the human body, by the Medical Study Group of Thermal Waters.
According to the health report, the natural resource “Souroti” is offered for hydrotherapy with the method of drinking therapy in diseases of the gastrointestinal system and kidney diseases. What everyone knew was scientifically documented.
In May 2020, το Natural Mineral Souroti was awarded the “SUPERIOR TASTE AWARD” by the International Taste Institute, which certifies its excellent taste and quality.
The International Taste Institute is the world leader in the evaluation and certification of the taste of food and beverages based in Brussels. Its jury is composed of renowned chefs and sommeliers, who through a rigorous tasting process recognize products that are distinguished for their high quality and taste, rewarding them with the SuperiorTaste Award.
Today in Souroti S.A. a Quality Management System according to the standard ELOT EN ISO 9001: 2018 and a Food Safety Management System according to the standard ELOT EN ISO 22000: 2015 are applied.
